Grandma died this morning. It wasn't unexpected. She's been on hospice care for weeks. Elizabeth texted me yesterday saying she more than likely only had a few days. I was planning to see her today or thursday but...

She's the only grandmother I ever really got to know. My mom's mom past away when I was 1, dad's when I was eight. Grandma has been there since I was, well 8. Thats when I started going ove to elizabeths house on a weekly basis.

I haven't seen her as much everythings been so hectic, but it still hurts.

I'm sitting in a Hilton hotel room with direct internet access. Obviously. It's my Grandfather's 75th birthday party since his actual birthday is a couple of weeks from now.

We are on our way to mini golf. Me, my dad, grandpa and my siter and 3 cousins.

I finally got Cold Moon Rising. I had to go to the Barnes&Noble by my work on wednesday but I got it. I am going to reread it before I post a reaction/review to it. I am also toying with the idea of writing reviews for all the other books of the series since I really can gush about all of them.

I have to be at work tomorrow at 1, but atleast I got today off.

So I've spent the last hour (relatively speaking) setting up a DreamWidth Account, same user name as LJ but differnt Journal titles. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] starandrea I have a somewhat basic understanding on how it works. It really shouldn't be that hard but I am very very tired.

In other news-Nikki (my aunt and uncle's 17 year old dog) was put to sleep last week. I was suppose to go over there to say goodby but they never told us. We found out tonight. I will miss her a lot, we practically grew up together, but I am really glad she isn't suffering anymore.

Elizabeth (her family) is putting Tiffy down later this week. She is at least 16 and can barely walk, but I got the chance to say goodby last night.

My dad and I saw Nght at the Museum and Terminator:Salvation last night. More on those tomorrow. I work in KC and not DT tomorrow, which will be weird, but I have mOnday and Wednesday off next week. Two days Yipee!!

Christmas

So I worked 8-4 christmas eve. Almost had a major crisis that day (that I am not willing to go into) that would have probably resulted in me not being able to get to my Aunt Cindy's house. It didn't happen.

So I got picked up at 4 and me and my mom, dad and sister drove straight to their house, got their round 6. So my dad has 6 sisters-everyone is married, all have kids, grand kids-the youngest is 2 I believe.  Usually it's chaos loud as hell. It was surprisingly calm and I had fun. My cousin Denny lives in Arizona, we haven't seen him for 5 years, was there with his fiancee. It was like he had never left.

I am in the grab bag this year since I turned 18. I got my 40 dollar Best Buy gift card-I can buy season 5 NCIS. Auntie Jeanette who wasn't suppose to, gave me The Tales of Beetle the Bard by J.K Rowling-It totally made my night-I was so happy.

Then we had dessert-Auntie Vicki is a dessert goddess. She always makes dozens of cookies mostly chocolate chip but others as well. She also makes cakes. Her siblings (my dad and the other 5 sisters) love and fight over the cakes. This year, she unveiled boxes of dessert.

1 cheese cake
1 carrot cake
1 tray of cream puffs

For EVERY sibling!! She passed all that out and *kidding you not* every one put it instantly in their separate cars.

Towards the end of the night I got to talking to Kathy (Denny's fiancee), I love her-we ended up talking about books for half an hour. I can't wait for this weekend (surprise wedding shower).

I got home at like 11:30. At this point I am just exhausted, end up not getting to bed till 1, had to go to my mom's brother's christmas day at 12:30. Oh fun.

I was out of it, totally utterly exhausted the whole day. I got my NCIS season 4 from my aunt (knew I was getting that or 5) *actually watching season 4 now Twisted Sister.*

I also got money and Eileen (my grandpa's girlfriend) got me this great looking battery operated razor, a turbie for toweling your hair after a shower, a pajama set and a bracelet. We all got these wonderful gifts from her.

My little 4 year old cousin made out the best. She got a bunch of princess clothes, a crown, boa, skirt. She also got a baby doll with accessories which she loved. Oh and she also got a castle. An actual castle tent-she also loved-we set it up and she spent as much time as possible in it before they had to go.

I however spent the last 3 ours we were there, taking cat naps, that is how exhausted I was. My reactions were so delayed.

I went to sleep round 1 last night and had to work 8-4 today-I need sleep. However I am really glad I am not at work this weekend. It will be utter chaos. We will have 3 maybe four rooms empty tomorrow-we are getting 12 dogs and need at least 6 dogs. Yeah...So not going there.

Tiger-a border collie/chow mix
Ryno-a shepard mix (puppy)

were returned. Maddie also was supposed to be getting returned. She was suppose to be there at 3, but wasn't there when I left around 4:30. Hopefully her adopters changed her mind.

My dad and I are going to a 10:15 showing of Bedtime Stories, tonight. I have to up tomorrow for the wedding shower.

Sometimes I just hate my family.

ETA: dislike, dislike them.

Kinda my morning as in I didn't go to sleep till past 3. I had 2 hours of sleep today.

Lisette got put down last night-she had throat cancer, she was only like a 1 1/2. (Gray cat. She was nuts) There's a lot that I can say about this but I won't cause it wil end up urning into a giant rant and yeah...not going there.

Am going to the movies with Elizabeth and Jasmine tomorrow. I want to see HSM 3. Course for me to do that I have to go with them to watch Saw V. I have only seen the first one. I laughed through it. Not scary.

I wanted to come home and sleep. But I couldn't cause my mom wanted to and there's no way I could have gone to sleep at 4 and go to sleep at any reasonable time friday morning. Yes cause I guarentee I will be up past midnight. Like always.

I am so happy cause [livejournal.com profile] stargate_ren was finally updated by [livejournal.com profile] sache8 and [livejournal.com profile] melyanna . I ♥ them because they made my day.

Course I realized I never watched last week's Grey's Anatomy but oh well, I definitely want to see this weeks though. The preview looks awesome. And apparently so was The Numb3rs preview for this week. I can not remember seeing it and You Tube doesn't have it. Least not that I can find anyway. I will probably end up writing weekly rants/squee's on at least Numb3rs as this season so far is turning out to be the best. I have yet to watch Stargate Atantis from last week. WIll probably watch both episodes friday night or sunday night. It depends cause I work all weekend.

I kinda want to participate in the puppy pile meme that [livejournal.com profile] starandrea is hosting/advertising but I am not comfortable writing PR fic and thats the only fandom where I could write one. With me anyways. Though I can always try. That reminds me... I wrote a PR fic awhile ago as a first try must post...

I didn't go to Harmony House for two weeks, the first week because I just needed to catch up on sleep and didn't go. Last week-Tuesday I didn't go cause I was not comfortable with having to take a bus after 8 up addison than down narragansett. Thursday because I visited Grandma in the hospital. We were going to on Wednesday but visiting hours are over at 8 and we were still at Elizabeth's by 7:30. Grandma-is actually elizabeth's grandma but...

But anyways back to Harmony-Monroe had to get put down probably two weeks ago due to health issues. He was an older gray tabby who was diabetic. He was really sweet.

And Newton at PAWS got adopted (sadly without Fabian, those two were hysterical together, but they loved one another) Both are chihuahuas.

Milton Beryle - a sometimes ill tempered orange tabby at HH (does not like other cats) attacked Wilma today (she's like 1 third his size) I checked her over and she seemed fine. She's a white calico so any blood would have been spotted easily especially cause I ran my hands over her. Yeah apparently not. Bout 2 minutes later I notice a whole bunch of blood on the floor. And i mean a lot. She had a puncture on her leg, but it was still a lot of blood for one puncture wound. They took her to see the vet just in case cause it looked like she was getting a blood blister. She had stopped bleeding after I put pressure on her leg for a few seconds. It was nothing big just a check to make  sure.

Aunt Gale: If you think you can't do something, then do what Uncle Don would do, and try, and if you still can't do it, like Uncle Don couldn't, then say what Uncle Don would say-FOOEY

Elizabeth: Uncle Don was suppose to live forever. Sometimes I think I can hear him yelling for me, and I have to take a step back. I would give anything for just one more day, so I can hear him yell for me again and have his radio on. But I know that he is watching over us.

Sam: I had a dream, the night Uncle Don died, that started with a memory of Uncle Don's last fight with my mom, you got to eat Uncle Don, then you can have dessert (okay boss, okay-and he would reach for the dessert whenever my mom wasn't looking)....then we were at Wrigley Field, on the 3rd base line, Uncle Don is going to bat and waves away his walker (oh FOOEY, I don't need that) and he looks at us his family, gets ready and bats the ball out of the field.

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out on the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks,
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the Cubbies,
If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game
.

Billy: I will take with me the strength, from Uncle Don, all of us should for that is all he can give us, and the tears, I cry now are not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy. Just like when Uncle Don would cry for joy after seeing someone, that he had not seen for years. I love you, man.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!

Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.

Goodbye, Uncle Don-I love you

Uncle Don's wake was today. It was from 3-9 but since I had to go with my parents we got there at like 7 and stayed for almost 2 hours. They had him laid out in the coffin but I only went up once, I didn't like seeing him there. There was so many people and almost all were family or at least considered family. They had set up a few boards with a bunch of pictures of Uncle Don throughout his life (I am still trying to get over the fact that he used to have a mustache, which I found out, Tuesday). I stayed around Elizabeth and was talking a lot with Becca and Ray (friends) and Austin (Elizabeth's bf) who had all been there pretty much since it started.

I was fine until Elizabeth started crying,and yeah. But I mean there were stories and laughter. My mom bought whoppers which were Uncle Don's favorite 2 boxes-one went with Uncle Don and the other went in the coffee room so everyone would remember him.

I am never eating cake again though. All of us kids, Me, Elizabeth, Keli, Becca, Ray, Tommy, Mikey, Austin, Kirsten (I think) and Amanda were sitting and talking and Ray comes out and says that he has given serious thought to what he wants to happen when he dies:

he wants to be cremated then have his ashes baked into a cake and he will have a list of people who he wants to eat. Now after that we started discussing what else he could do all just joking-someone wearing him as a costume, sitting him in a chair, in front of the tv with remote in hand and a bunch of other stuff that had us laughing.

Elizabeth comes over-we had just gone back to the whole cake thing and she says- I won't eat you, its cannibalism (Ray-its not, its cake) and we all pee and poop anyways-and we all just crack up cause they way she said it was to funny-and then we start arguing.

Then Elizabeth says you can make diamonds out of the ash-and Ray gets all affronted and says-Oh so you won't eat me, but you'll wear me and everyone says yeah-again that sets us all off.

It became a fun few minutes, then everyone started leaving and...

Tomorrow is the semi funeral that starts at 10:30,and there is going to be a service at the funeral home because the church wouldn't do anything cause its a holy week or something. Then we are going straight to the cemetery and then lunch. Hopefully after that Elizabeth, her mom, Billy and Grandma can finally get some rest because none of them have really slept in days.
