All the fic I have been writing has been therapy. It is helping me deal with Uncle Don's death though nothing prepared me for going downstairs and seeing his bare room today. They had cleaned it out and painted his room yellow because he had wanted it that way-its just that it was so final he really was gone--I didn't get that with Uncle Buddy because my parents cleaned out his apartment- I was home from school-they did it in 2 days-but I was still at the point where I would randomly burst out crying that me going to clean out his stuff would not have been a good thing. i would not have been able to function.
Uncle Don liked to do puzzles-you know put them together and glue it so you could hang them up. There are a bunch all over his room and the laundry room where he worked on them. Elizabeth (my best friend) has the only puzzle that Uncle Don did that had all the pieces out of all the ones he ever did. Its hanging on her bedroom door. Tomorrow or Thursday everyone is going to help finish the last puzzle that Uncle Don had been working on. That will be good and give everyone a chance to say good bye again.
The bright side about today is that at her house Billy (Elizabeth's brother and mine by extension) brought his 2 dogs Dozer and Layla and Elizabeth has 2-Tiffy and Maggie that we had fun watching the former 2 play around-plus just being around any animal is enough to lighten my day that being there was not as hard as I thought it would be.
Uncle Buddy loved the dollar store. He got everything from there and when we were younger every once and awhile he would take me and my sister shopping to- you guess it the dollar store-alway the same one by his apartment until they closed it. Well anyway...
After he died we kept most of his stuff and my dad kept a lot of his tools including a hammer from the dollar store
now this hammer was brand new and looked to be a really good one in my dads opinion. The first time, the very first time my dad uses this hammer -the metal part (the top) of the actual hammer FALLS OFF. We laughed so hard because ONLY Uncle Buddy would buy a hammer from the dollar store that would break the first time it is actually used.
