Grandma died this morning. It wasn't unexpected. She's been on hospice care for weeks. Elizabeth texted me yesterday saying she more than likely only had a few days. I was planning to see her today or thursday but...

She's the only grandmother I ever really got to know. My mom's mom past away when I was 1, dad's when I was eight. Grandma has been there since I was, well 8. Thats when I started going ove to elizabeths house on a weekly basis.

I haven't seen her as much everythings been so hectic, but it still hurts.

There are times when I wish I didn't live at home. The way my mom talks to me sometimes, I really wish I had went off to school after graduation.

So cause of the Adopt-a-thon, I worked 6-4 today. I am so tired its not even funny. I've only had, well, less than 4 hours of sleep. I'm just glad I can sleep in ill 10 tomorrow before work.

I watched 3x12 of Robin Hood on OnDemand. Talk about surprise endings. My god!! Poor Alan. Just no.....and Vasey!!!! That came out of left field and was a jaw on the floor in shock surprise. I still have to watch the finale.

Of course I watched RH right after I watched episode 7 of White Collar. That surprised me. Everyone on LJ was in shock at the ending! No one saw it coming and the whole epsidoe was a giant red herring but my god, that and RH were to many surprises for one night.

I have to wait until mid-January for WC to come back. ;(

**I need a WC icon....

Fic Update

So I updated my ff.net profile regarding Standing Ground and never posted over here. Chapter 8 is almost done. Nothing will be posted until after the new year, but 8 will be up by the end of January. I know it's been a long wait and offer apologies.

I hit a giant roadblock with this story for months and lost the will to write. It's not an excuse but with RL becoming real difficult and tiring, it did nothing to help me get my muse back.

**ps-Like my 3rd NCIS:LA icon? I want one for Gibbs but...I think that would be a cop out *laughs*

So a couple of months ago, I went on another Transformers kick. I wanted to find some good, longer stories. Boy, did I succeed. So here and now I am going to rec this wonderful, brilliantly fantastically written story from over at ff.net.

Masks by L. Mouse, has become my favoriteTransformers story every, and is one of my top five in favorite story/series. It is 65 chapters and counting and is almost at 500,000 words. It is character driven, has several well thought out plots, and great character and story arcs. The characters, more so the humans (the only TF I've ever seen our the movies, so I ddon't know most of the Bots well) are actually written in character. It's amazing!! And I'm picky when it comes to specifics and this story surpasses everything I could imagine.

This story has the perfect mix of world building, politics (always a hard one), plain old human problems, angst, drama, military situations, etc. And everything works, wonderfully. Please check this story out, you won't be dissapointed.

****Warning**** It has the obvious Threesome in it, and slash (bot relationships). It has an M rating for reference.

So I have been into NCIS:LA (of course:) since it premiered and I'm loving it. I love my 3 new icons for the show! I could gush all day about it, but I will say the characters chemistry (especially Callen and Sam) and their frickin lines are brilliant!!

I have also started watching White Collar, that new USA show. Oh my god, with 6 episodes, it has rapidly become a favorite. Again I am going to hype about the chemistry between Neil and Burke, it just awesome in that bromance kinda way. The same can be said especially for NCIS:LA's Sam and Callen because...wow! But WC is very funny, I laugh out loud a lot when I watch it on HULU.

*It's on the same time as Numb3rs which I won't stop watching especially since it might be in danger from getting canceled:( Save Numb3rs!! Save the MATH!!! ::laughs::

Tired....so so so tired.

So tonights Grey's was one of the best episodes in awhile. The ending was...There was just something about the ending that made everything else inconsequential cause it was the cjeif. Despite everything he has done, he's stil the chief and ...yeah.

Of course the previews...As long as Mark and Lexie stay together, I am assuming they will since it would actually make a really good storyline. And its Mark Sloan, of course he had a child out there. He slept around so much before that it was always a possibility As long as Mark and Lexie stay together I can deal with anything. And you know Hunt and Christina as well.

Today's been one hell of a day. Work was exhausting. It was just so busy. And then I had to deal with my drunk parents who decided Sunday would be a god day to go to Mickey's. That always involves screaming and arguing and tonight was no different. I mean at 9 it felt like it was midnight and even now it feels like early morning. I'm exhausted but awake enough that its to early to sleep.

God!

Got NCIS season 6 and Moonlight  tonight. Have yet to start either. I orginaly went for season 3 of Brothers & Sistersbut they didn't have it. Nor did they have any seasons from Numb3rs. Not really happy. I really wanted B&S. Though I am happy, delightedly so, they I have  Moonlight, since now I can actually see the last episode which I haven't done in what? 2 years?

I'm bored. Really really bored.

I'm sitting in a Hilton hotel room with direct internet access. Obviously. It's my Grandfather's 75th birthday party since his actual birthday is a couple of weeks from now.

We are on our way to mini golf. Me, my dad, grandpa and my siter and 3 cousins.

I finally got Cold Moon Rising. I had to go to the Barnes&Noble by my work on wednesday but I got it. I am going to reread it before I post a reaction/review to it. I am also toying with the idea of writing reviews for all the other books of the series since I really can gush about all of them.

I have to be at work tomorrow at 1, but atleast I got today off.
sgpr_fan: (Default)

Cold Moon Rising was released today!! I am so excited I can't believe it^_^

Going to get it in the nest 40-45 minutes. Review when I finish either tonight or tomorrow.

ETA: Borders is stupid. I went to get the book and they had rearranged the store. Again. That didn't really matter. The problem was that none of this series or the authors other series was at the store. I am actually pissed at this. Especially since there was no one at the info desk pose questions to.

Hopefully I can stop at Barnes & Noble tomorrow when my dad picks me up from work.

Dan: No! Women don't live longer. We die sooner.

Dan: It's going to take years of us guys not talking to each other to get back to where we were.

Becky: Well, I got most of that stuff from David.
Roseanne: You girl talked to David.

~~ Girl Talk from season 7

Roseanne: Dan, I'll be counting the kids when I get back. We better not be missing more than a couple of them.

~~Punch and Jimmy from Season 7

I am on a Roseanne kick. All seasons so far I've found on Youtube. So I've been watching it. I forgot how much I love this show. It's so funny!! And true for what's happening now.

So yesterday I reread Quiet Comes the Dawn by Admrl. McGill over at ff.net. It is a wonderful Harry Potter story that continues directly after the ending of Deathly Hallows. There are 10 chapters and though it hasn't been updated since 07' the author is back from a hiatus and is hoping to continue shortly.

It really is my all time favorite HP fic that I have ever read. And it is extremely well written. Go and check it out.

Another fic (series) this time are the wonderful HP stories written by Chelles over at ff.net. They tell the story of James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Lily and friends through Hogwarts. (Before Harry..)

Then continue on to James and Lily's untimely death, (Potter Legacy...)

And then at the end, the story from Remus and Sirius starting during book three, (Ties that Bind...)

All three are great prequels to the nooks we know, they just don't include details from DH.

R.I.P

Walter Cronkite
sgpr_fan: (Default)
So if you see this movie, I reccomend tissues, lots of them. I loved this movie though but it is a very hard subject matter for many to watch, as it deals with Cancer.

spoilers!!! spoilers!!! spoilers!!! )

ETA: I read the Wiki description of the book and there are 2 very different endings (movie vs. book) and I think a better version of the family in the movie. I think it will be one of those things where book!verse and movie!verse are 2 different things/realities for me. This will perhaps be revised when I read the book.
