Title: Afterwards
Rating: G
Character: Raven Ramirez
Genre: A Tale of the Sazi: Timeless Moon
Warnings: spoilers for Timeless Moon
Disclaimer: I own nothing

AN: This is the first part in at the moment a two part story. It is from the wonderful series of books: Tales of the Sazi by C.T Adams and Cathy Clamp. This comes after the events of Timeless Moon. If anyone has questions about it just ask and I will answer to the best of my abilities. This series I would reccomend to anyone over the age of 17 since there are adult themes but it is extremely good.

AN2: I am waiting for my beta to get back to me about the 3rd chapter in my Sky High fic, but it's slow going. I also gave my other beta another he last chapter to To Belong so that should be up in th enext couple of days.

Raven Ramirez stared at his cell phone. He had finished the cleanup of the farm, where he, Josette and Rick had had their little adventure. He was worried; it had taken him longer than he wanted to finish, even with the help of his mother and some of her tribe. He was worried about his Granddad, about Nana, and the others and especially Aspen or Josette as she now called herself. He did not know if the mating bond was mutual, just that she was bonded to him. He had seen what mating bonds did to people, his father and the Monier women were a prime example. Josette was the one Monier sibling that his father had not had a relationship with along with Antoine, the lone Monier brother. He understood a little more why Antoine could dislike his father so much, especially since he was pretty much the main reason the Monier siblings had not been able to have a proper conversation in decades.

Now Raven was, in his mind following in his father’s footsteps. Aspen was mated to him, something he did not know whether or not was mutual, but he did know he could draw power from her. So yes, Raven was if nothing else preoccupied, so when his phone rang, it severely disrupted his thoughts. He was not expecting the call he got. He was beyond relieved that his Granddad and the others were alive, God knows what would have happened if the Chief Justice would have died. What he was not expecting was Rick to be the one on the line, let alone tell him Josette was for all purposes dying and that Raven could help. He did not question anything and merely said that he would be in Daytona no later than tomorrow.

When he arrived at the airport in Daytona, he was picked up by Councilman Ahmad of all people. Ahmad informed him of what had happened to the best of his knowledge. Raven as by now deadly curious about everything that had happened as he still did not know all the details and Ahmad could only tell him so much. They arrived at the Villa where the group was staying and was met by Amber, who he had hugged with relief because only now did he believe that granddad was okay. He would meet with the others but he wanted to see Josette first, and Amber agreed and he could smell her relief.

The sight that had greeted him, when he stepped into her room should not have surprised him but it did. Aspen was laid out on the bed motionless and barely breathing, Rick sat motionlessly next to her holding her hand. Raven had not asked questions and had gone straight to work on healing Josette and helping her as only a mate could. After an unknown period of time, Raven left the room; he had done what he could. Now it was all up to Josette.

He left and Rick moved back to Josette’s side where in Raven’s mind he belonged. Raven had gone downstairs as he waited to be told what had happened since he lasted parted from the two he had just left.
