Uncle Don's wake was today. It was from 3-9 but since I had to go with my parents we got there at like 7 and stayed for almost 2 hours. They had him laid out in the coffin but I only went up once, I didn't like seeing him there. There was so many people and almost all were family or at least considered family. They had set up a few boards with a bunch of pictures of Uncle Don throughout his life (I am still trying to get over the fact that he used to have a mustache, which I found out, Tuesday). I stayed around Elizabeth and was talking a lot with Becca and Ray (friends) and Austin (Elizabeth's bf) who had all been there pretty much since it started.

I was fine until Elizabeth started crying,and yeah. But I mean there were stories and laughter. My mom bought whoppers which were Uncle Don's favorite 2 boxes-one went with Uncle Don and the other went in the coffee room so everyone would remember him.

I am never eating cake again though. All of us kids, Me, Elizabeth, Keli, Becca, Ray, Tommy, Mikey, Austin, Kirsten (I think) and Amanda were sitting and talking and Ray comes out and says that he has given serious thought to what he wants to happen when he dies:

he wants to be cremated then have his ashes baked into a cake and he will have a list of people who he wants to eat. Now after that we started discussing what else he could do all just joking-someone wearing him as a costume, sitting him in a chair, in front of the tv with remote in hand and a bunch of other stuff that had us laughing.

Elizabeth comes over-we had just gone back to the whole cake thing and she says- I won't eat you, its cannibalism (Ray-its not, its cake) and we all pee and poop anyways-and we all just crack up cause they way she said it was to funny-and then we start arguing.

Then Elizabeth says you can make diamonds out of the ash-and Ray gets all affronted and says-Oh so you won't eat me, but you'll wear me and everyone says yeah-again that sets us all off.

It became a fun few minutes, then everyone started leaving and...

Tomorrow is the semi funeral that starts at 10:30,and there is going to be a service at the funeral home because the church wouldn't do anything cause its a holy week or something. Then we are going straight to the cemetery and then lunch. Hopefully after that Elizabeth, her mom, Billy and Grandma can finally get some rest because none of them have really slept in days.

Okay writing is def. therapy for me. I have come to the conclusion that I will keep writing and posting probably everyday until I run out of ideas or get to busy, but considering that next week is a week of testing you will probably see a lot more-as stress relief.

It will be multi chapter- I just have no idea of actual plot at least not about the family- I have scenes-just no plot. Enjoy!!

Baseball season's on the way   the
Well you better get ready for a brand new day
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today

They're singing Go Cubs go, go Cubs go
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go Cubs go, go Cubs go
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today

They got the power, they got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well, this is the year and the Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field

We're singing now Go Cubs go, go Cubs go
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go Cubs go, go Cubs go
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today

Baseball time is here again
You can catch it all on WGN
So step your feet and clap your hands
The Chicago Cubs got the greatest fans

Hear them singing now Go Cubs go, go Cubs go
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go Cubs go, go Cubs go
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today

Aunt Gale: If you think you can't do something, then do what Uncle Don would do, and try, and if you still can't do it, like Uncle Don couldn't, then say what Uncle Don would say-FOOEY

Elizabeth: Uncle Don was suppose to live forever. Sometimes I think I can hear him yelling for me, and I have to take a step back. I would give anything for just one more day, so I can hear him yell for me again and have his radio on. But I know that he is watching over us.

Sam: I had a dream, the night Uncle Don died, that started with a memory of Uncle Don's last fight with my mom, you got to eat Uncle Don, then you can have dessert (okay boss, okay-and he would reach for the dessert whenever my mom wasn't looking)....then we were at Wrigley Field, on the 3rd base line, Uncle Don is going to bat and waves away his walker (oh FOOEY, I don't need that) and he looks at us his family, gets ready and bats the ball out of the field.

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out on the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks,
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the Cubbies,
If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game
.

Billy: I will take with me the strength, from Uncle Don, all of us should for that is all he can give us, and the tears, I cry now are not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy. Just like when Uncle Don would cry for joy after seeing someone, that he had not seen for years. I love you, man.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!

Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.

Goodbye, Uncle Don-I love you
